'True Grit'Shown A Gritty Performance
Box Office: 'True Grit' Outdoes 'Little Fockers' in Third Week

"" has shown a gritty performance and it results in a victory at North American Box Office. After standing still on the runner-up place since it was released in late December 2010, the movie finally outdoes "" on its third weekend with $14.6 million.

The drama, which is one of Oscar favorites, takes advantages from the quiet weekend. It has been common knowledge that January is typically a dead zone for new films as moviegoers catch up on prospective Academy Awards contenders and the National Football League is about to kick off its playoffs.

Former two-week winner "Little Fockers" is now sitting on the second place with $13.5 million, making a total domestic revenue of $123.7 million so far. 's "" is the only newcomer entering the top ten, landing on number three with $10.6 million haul.

Sci-fi movie "" drops to number four on its fourth weekend with $10.1 million. Another possible Oscar nominee "" jets off from number nine to five with an additional $8.1 million cume.

Also making a huge leap this week is "" which boasts 's musical performance. The drama jumps from number 43 to 6 and adds $7.3 million haul after opening in additional 1,422 theaters.
